In 1998, after several years in the administrative field where I gained a considerable amount of
hands-on knowledge and experience with a variety of productivity and desktop software, I switched careers and got solely involved in website & graphic development. After receiving some training from a local IT College, I had my first experience as a
webmaster and computer troubleshooter with the Central Canada Exhibition in Ottawa, ON. Other contracts soon followed, and in 2001, I created and launched WebHomesbydesign.
Since this time I have enjoyed working associations with not-for-profit organizations, engineers, a medical publication house and the federal government as a website developer. My most recent work with the federal government was with the
departments of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, and Natural Resources Canada, where I provided development assistance
with Common Look and Feel (CLF 2.0) initiatives and website conversion to XHTML format.
My approach in all projects that I take on is to first establish a strong understanding of the requirements and ultimate goals of clients. Listening, asking pertinent questions and
having good instincts about what clients really need and want, are key in my view to realizing successful results. As both a pragmatist and optimist, I strongly value common sense and a straightforward, practical approach to
designing websites.
If I can be of assistance with any project or requirement that you have in mind, I invite you to be in touch.
